Imaginem Phantasticam
Most photographers find a niche in their work early on, weddings, landscapes etc. When I first started I tried any and everything to see what I liked. Macro photography, astrophotography… even flowers… that didn’t last long, to be honest.
Think my niche has been staring me in the face all along. No matter if it was during an event, be it a cabaret show or sporting event, the one thing has always remained constant. The people. Trying to get the best expression and action out of each type of event is my niche. This has been reinforced in my recent works on a boudoir shoot, boxing matches and studio days.
I have also been looking at more stylized portraits with a grunge background, these work so well I will have to find the time to do more of them!
These photos are from a recent project centred on creating art similar to an old painting like Sir Peter Paul Rubens, OK it is a bit of a stretch to compare my work to a Flemish artist living in Belgium but there are some similarities. This type of portraiture has hit a spark with me and I want to continue doing more of these.
